Who is this course for?

Is this course for me?

Often the most common questions you might find you are asked about as an RVN are about the minefield that is nutrition...

❓ What diet should I feed my pet?

❓ How do I know that they are getting the right nutrition?

❓ Why would I choose this diet over another?

But the truth is canine and feline nutrition is often overlooked or misunderstood. There is so much information out there that can often overwhelm us as professionals, imagine how owners must feel!

Our small animal nutrition advisor course provides an unbiased and holistic approach for those members of staff with a particular interest in the importance of correct nutrition.

Owners’ increasingly question and investigate alternative diets for their pets. Our role in practice must be to support choices for these clients and ensure diets are balanced to meet the individual pets needs. Nutrition involves a lot more than choosing the appropriate diet from the shelves.

A deeper understanding of how nutrition effects health, disease and life stages will improve your confidence in talking around nutritional based questions.

Your clients will be better informed, more able to provide a healthy life style for their pets and have an improved relationship with the practice.

Are you ready to answer your clients nutrition questions with confidence?

Check out our nutrition advisor course to take that first step.

Don't just take our word for it...

I loved this course! I found it so easy to follow as it was so well-structured and the information was very accessible. Katie was also so helpful with answers to my many many questions! I learnt so much on this course and it really got me excited about giving nutritional information to clients. I know I have a lot more work to do to become familiar with most of the foods out there but this course has equipped me with the skills and tools to be confident when giving nutritional advice and informing clients about what to look for and what to avoid. Thanks so much and I'm definitely going to do the raw food course soon!

The course I completed offered a user-friendly format of short videos which were all well presented and highly informative from a great speaker. I felt far more confident in my knowledge after completion. I completed the nutrition advisor course and my only minor criticism is that the lecturer made several references to a facebook support group and offered support to the participants, however I could not obviously find any links or contact details for this unfortunately. Overall I thoroughly enjoyed the course.

About Katie

Instructor Bio:

RVN CPD Instructor Katie McCaul RVN BSc Animal Behaviour/Physiology DIP Naturopath

I qualified in 1998 and became Head nurse in a 3 branch mixed practice. My time in practice taught me many skills including running clinics, dealing with company representatives, tricky clients and a team of nurses and vets. I very much enjoyed my role as an NVQ assessor teaching the trainee Vet nurses. After leaving practice I was lucky enough to complete a BSc in Animal Behaviour and Physiology. This taught me about the evolutionary path our domesticated pets had been on and how innate behaviour and physiology are the key to happiness and health. Since university I have taught on the VN degree program, worked with Wiltshire Wildlife trust, and returned to practice part time. My present role as research and development manager at a Pet Food Company, has been an education into the pet food industry. Leading me to achieve a diploma in Naturopathy, use diet formulation software and run a research project. I am passionate about supporting Veterinary nurses in practice and providing unbiased balance education to enable informed choices for clients.
