I wrote this guide because now more than ever clients need support.
Losing a pet is heart breaking enough, but combine that with Covid-19 and it's devastating.

The changes to how the euthanasia appointment for a start. Some people have to choose who attends, some clinics are saying no one can attend.

Imagine having to say goodbye, but it's outside in the garden or the car or the carpark. Imagine the distress when you see staff in ppe, gloves and masks. It looks so clinical so official. The staff want to give the dignified passing the pet deserves. They do this, but then they can't console the owner. No hug, no handshake. They can't physically express their sympathy.

This time is one where you just want it to be just so, just right.
And veterinary staff are doing their very best. Trying to keep safe but also give pets the peaceful passing they need.

They are socially distant but not emotionally distant.

#sociallydistantnotemotionallydistant

This guide was created to help vets and clients alike. To help one another through not only the loss but the associated feelings.

Protocols change but the compassion and dedication remains.

Don't just take our word for it...
